INTELLIGENT
HOMES
Today,
computers do a lot of work in different places. They handle the accounts in banks. They can help doctors to check
patients’ health quickly. Pilots can activate the autopilot and sit back to relax. The computer will fly the
aeroplane all the way to its destination.
In
future, a central computer will probably control all the other equipment in
your home, too. You will be able to telephone the computer and order it to record your favourite TV
programmes. You can tell it to switch on the oven to cook your meal and start
the washing machine.
Your
computer will also help to keep your home safe. It will lock all the doors when
no one is at home. Sensors will scan
people inside and outside your house. Your computer will alert you when there are strangers.
It will also stop a child from entering a kitchen when no adult is present.
Questions :
1)

can the computers do?

2)
